I pieced it all together then cut it out.
I folded the fabric correctly and laid it out.
I pinned it and cut it - even remembering to do the wee notches etc too.
I diligently followed the (very simple-to-follow-even-for-me) sewing instructions.
And I made a top.
All on my own.
You see, I'm still very much a beginner when it comes to sewing clothes but I had so much fun learning new skills from the lovely peeps at Sew Me Something, that they have instilled in me a confidence to give it a bash on my own.
If you fancy making one too, the pattern for this simple little Sorbetto top can be downloaded from the Colette website here.
And thanks too, to Julie at Mack & Mabel for inspiring me - pop over here and have a wee peek at the sweet Sorbetto top that Julie made a little while ago.
I'm definitely going to be making another one soon, but in the meantime, whilst my sewing confidence is brimming, I've got my mind set on a sweet halter dress - and as soon as the Hubby clears all his
toys lovely new puzzles (a haul from his recent trip to Japan) off the dining room table, I'm hoping to make a start on that.
Watch this space : - )
Hope you're having a happy week too,
