Fun & fabulous fabric flowers...

Friday again . . . already.  The weeks just seem to be flying by at the moment.  I've been out & about as usual but in between have managed some sewing (almost finished Row 2), a wee bit of knitting (some lovely wintery mitts) and crocheting (more stars).

Yesterday however, was dedicated to learning a new craft.  YAY :-)  Don't you love learning new and fun things to make ?
My friend Heather & I had signed up for a workshop at Material Girls, the lovely fabric & yarn shop that I mentioned last week. So off we tootled to Alcester and spent the afternoon learning to make fabulous Vintage Fabric Flowers.

  SO,
we chose our fabrics,

and selected our twigs,

 then we traced,
we cut,
we sewed,
 we gathered,

 we twirled
and we glued . .

 . . . et voila, we'd made a bunch of fun, fabulous flowers !

Aren't they sweet?

There were six of us in the class and the lovely  Diane from Harry & Floss was our oh-so-patient tutor, who encouraged and helped, and even sympathised when we burnt our fingers on the hot glue gun . . . [despite her earlier warnings that "the glue gets very hot, BE CAREFUL"]
Oops . . . ;-)
What a fun way to spend an afternoon - thanks Diane for teaching us this lovely new craft, & Poppy (for providing the opportunity, the venue and the yummy biscuits & tea.

Thanks so much for all your sweet comments about my star garland :-)  As a few of you asked about it, the pattern is from Issue 17 of the Mollie Makes magazine which is available to download or order a back issue here.
(Have just noticed they have a 1-week sale on at the moment too)

A big thank you too, to Pauline at Little House on the Hill  and Sarah at Chantille Fleur for the lovely mention and the links  :-)
And welcome to my new followers who've joined us this week - it's lovely to have you here.

My contribution to the bunch !

Wishing you a happy & blessed weekend,
xoxo

    1. You're welcome! One good turn deserves another :-)
They were actually pretty easy to make, once I'd come to terms with the fact that they didn't actually HAVE to be perfect!
      Happy weekend to you too,
      xoxo
